elgrad 0 Posted February 19, 2009 Hello everyone! I am just starting this journey and I am a little anxious. I have tried and failed so many times before that I wonder if this is something that I can succeed at. I have met with the surgeon and am starting the whole pre-op stuff - nutritionist, psych eval, etc. It is good to know that there are folks out there that have been down this road successfully. Thanks (in advance) for all the help I know that I will receive from all of you. elgrad
Linda** 0 Posted February 19, 2009 You sound alot like me before being banded.I had tried and failed soooo many times that I was afraid to tell people that I was getting banded. I was worried what some would say if I failed AGAIN after spending so much money on myself. I am here to tell you it works! Remember it is a "tool." You must use it right for it to work , but if you do it is wonderful! It is not easy to get used to the small portions I use a cup saucer for a dinner plate and still dish up more than I can eat. My family calls me a cheap date. HA Ha!! I am 47, was banded 14 months ago and have lost 110 pounds! Everything is easier from tying my shoes to giving the dog a bath! I am so greatful for this procedure! It has changed my life! You should see the looks I get from people that haven't seen me for awhile! Start smiling  you are preparing to change your life!! elgrad 0 Posted February 19, 2009 Thank you Linda! That is so what I wanted to hear. I am 54 years old and am so tired of being tired and unhealthy. You make it sound wonderful and that is what I needed. Congratulations on your wonderful weight loss and on being so proud of yourself. We all need to feel that way!
