long2bethin 0 Posted February 18, 2009 Hello I'm also in Mn. I just had surgery on 2/11. My doctor has me on 2 weeks of liquids after, so I am on day 7 of liquids today and it's getting really boring, how are you doing with it?

scout101 0 Posted February 18, 2009 Hi, I start the pre-op diet on the 24th of Feb, can't say I'm looking forward to it though but it must be done! How are you doing post-op, no complications I hope. Looking forward to eating real food I'm sure! As a nurse who works night shift, I am a little concerned about my stamina and not feeling sick while at work. Who did your surgery? scout101 0 Posted February 18, 2009 I hope you got that reply,I think I replied to my own thread. Whoops As I said hope you are doing well post-op. I'm sure the liquids are getting quite boring. My surgeon is M. Bettendorf at Central MN Surgeons
long2bethin 0 Posted February 18, 2009 Dr. Swain did my surgery. The recovery has been pretty good, the most pain I had came from my left shoulder and a little in my neck. I guess it's from the gas they use for the surgery. That was my first complaint waking up and the largest problem, other than that I had hardly any pain. I just find myself actually wanting to chew and swallow something instead of just drinking it all. One of those mental things I will have to overcome I guess. I wasn't on any restrictive diet pre op, just the normal trying to lose weight diet. Good luck to you I hope all goes well. Who is your surgeon?
scout101 0 Posted February 19, 2009 I have heard of other people having pain from the gas also, so you are not alone. My surgeon is Dr. Matthew Bettendorf. I live in Sartell, MN. Good luck and thanks for the info.
