Sweet cravings - vitamins for.

Recommended Posts

I have been at goal now for months, but getting sweet cravings, and yep is that time of month. A friend told me with lapband it is common to have sweet cravings when you get to goal, and you can take some type of Vitamin for it, is it allowed? i am not taking any Vitamins at all, and had blood test the other day, and everything is great.:blushing:

I've honestly never ever heard of a Vitamin to control a craving for sweets and that isn't just a "lap band" problem, either. I wish there were such a thing! However I was told I would have to take a good multi vitamin for the rest of my life (even people without a band are often advised to take a good multi...to be safe) So while Vitamins don't really work for "sweet" cravings (or else diabetics and many many overweight people would be taking them already!) a good multi is a good idea.

I have had a sweet tooth my whole life! I haven't heard of a Vitamin but I indulge every day. I have either a 100 calorie pack of m&m's or 100 calorie pack of swedish fish. I figure what the heck.. this isn't a diet.

I know what you are talking about. There was a post about this about 2 weeks ago. I will see if I can find it for you.

Have a great day!

Mary

I think it might be chromium picolinate.

I'm not sure if it's a Vitamin, but you can certainly get it from most health food stores in the UK and there's tons of information about it on the web.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
