It is 2 AM and I can not sleep. I will be banded in 6 hours. I am not nervous, per se. I just want to get this over to get on with the rest of my life.

I have been on liquid for 2 weeks. In the last 5 days my weight has stabilized and have only lost 0.4 lbs in the last 5 days. This really drives the point that I have to exercise. Since I am taking in less than 1000 cals a day, I will have to do something to kick start the weight loss again.

I will post agian when I get home from the hospital on Thursday. I am keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well.

Hey there. You should be prepping for surgery right now. I wish you many good thoughts and prayers. Congrats on your band birthday! This date will always be sealed into your memory! We are the about the same height. I was heavier than you at the start 305. In two days will be my 8 month bandiversary. It just flew by. I hope you take LOTS of pics along your journey because you will love looking back at the before's!!

Well, I am home from the hospital. Not much pain, more soreness than anything else. Feels like I had a weeks worth of heavy stomache workouts.

The nurse told me not to get on a scail for a few days becuase of all the fluids they give you via IV. I did anyway....14 lbs up!!!! I am not worried at all about it becuase I know pre-suregery they gave me two liters, and at least 5 liters post-op. Only 1 liter of output of urine....so the next few days I will be standing next to the toilet!!!

Well, just thought I would let you know how it is going with me.....

It's good to hear you did so well! Keep posting and let us know how you are doing.. I will give one little piece of advice.. WALK WALK WALK! Keep moving.. The gas was my biggest problem and you really have to keep your body moving to keep it at bay.

The problem I have today is that I have NO energy. AFter my morning post I went for a walk and could barely do it. All I wanted to do is sleep. Came home and slept for another 5 hours. It seems that I just cant wake up!!!!!!!!

Anyone else have this problem.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
