I really liked Touch of Evil. It was a Hitchcock, right? Or am I confused again?

you are confused...Orson Welles was the producer, director and actor

We saw Stephen King's Desperation recently. It was kinda dumb. It could have been good, but it just wasn't.

I think SK's movies are hit or miss. Some are good, but some just aren't. I wonder why?

Could not agree more. I think the material just does not lend itself well to screen adaptation. Personally, I think it's because his books extremely detailed, and there's no way the movies could squeeze in all that stuff (without making it a multi part, like LOTR)

Gollum, gollum.... (said as Smeagal hacking up a fur ball)

In typing that, and in acting it out at my desk, I just realized I need my coffee. Oh, and that I'm a nerd.

When I read (past and present tense) the books, I pronounced his name as if it was someone having great difficulty in swallowing something...oppposite of hacking one up..so same, but different.

I too need more coffee.< /p>

Yes. Yes you are. But I dig that. I'm certainly not afraid to embrace my inner geek. Actually, it's not all that "inner"...

Yes. Yes you do.

I'm ready to go home, plz. If anybody sees my boss, send her my way, K?

True, some are not even worth a moment in time, but if any of you get the chance, watch "The Mist". It's crazy good and follows well with his short story. It just came out not more than a few years ago.

If you get the chance to read the short story. It will turn you inside out!! The man can write no doubt.

Watch it with the Citizen Kane jokes. :crying:

:)

Hey, Mr. Mac gets his CPAP machine on Tues. I can't wait! They are making him take a class on it before they give it to him. That seems like overkill to me.

Not many movies watched over the weekend - too much company and stuff. However, did manage to squeeze in:

Captain Corelli's mandolin - 2

Don't bother to knock - 2

All the Kings men - 3

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
