Hi Trish!

I have PCOS as well and that was one of my main drives for wanting to lose weight to get my hormones under control and all of the other things that come along with PCOS. I have been successful so far in my weight loss. I have lost 65 lbs in 7 months. And my menstrual cycles are like clock work now, and NORMAL at that! I didn't find it difficult as I have read others have had problems losing weight with PCOS, just follow the plan and you will be fine...do you have a surgery date yet?

Hi, my tentative date is 31st March big YAYY :rose:

I was asking on behalf of a friend who is also interested but has polycystic ovaries and is concerned about outlaying the cost and not losing weight per say.

Hello I was banded back in March of 2008. I Have not been diag with pcos but it has been brought up several times and my past gyno just said here is some BC try this. Which that turns me into a not so nice person. SO I cant take them. I finnally went to one who really listend and cared and she thinks I have it. She is sending me to a endoconologist takes a while to get into this one but I will see her in MAY. But I am one who has had a terrible time at the band working for me. SO I am not sure if this is related or not. Yes I have lost some weight. But seems its not cause of the band and its more of a mind thing. The weight loss is not great as my Dr keeps telling me look at what your eating etc. I sorta am . My portions are cut down etc. And the scale still dont budge. Not sure if its the band not working or the pcos. And in my other post I may be getting a second opinion from another DR. As I am getting more and more discouraged.

I have PCOS and was just banded on 2/11. I had never considered that this may not work with the PCOS. :tongue2:

Now I am flipping out. However, my insurance paid so if I don't lose a lot I'm not out of pocket much. My plan is to keep my carbs as complex as possible and not have too many, just like on a diabetic diet. That is what my Gyno has always suggested.

My friend had pcos and had to take fertility drugs for her first two pregnancies. She has a 5 year old and twins who turned 1 on Jan. 10. She thought she couldn't get pregnant on her own. She lost 40 lbs after being banded in July and is now 9 weeks pregnant and in complete shock!:tongue2: Considering she has the twins she definitely wasn't trying, but she started ovulating after the weight loss.

I also try to stick with the low carb diet that is normally recommended for PCOS, and just make healthier choices now.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
