The best protein supplement

Recommended Posts

I just wanted to share with everyone the best Protein supplement. It is from a website called egg whites international. I swear it is totally tasteless and way low in carbs and calories. (2g carbs 120 cal 30g protein) You can mix it with salad dressings, Sugar Free Chocolate Syrup, any juice, coffee (as long as it's cold) anything. You can mix it with sugar free Jello. It is awesome! I know that sometimes it is hard to get in all 60g of protein a day and that those shakes taste gross and get old after a while and this stuff is really great. That's all!!

Hi Razz - I checked into their web site. I just want to make sure I wasn't missing something. Is their only Protein supplement liquid egg whites? I was looking on their site for a powder form but didn't see any.

If this is a liquid supplement, how does it not go bad in shipping, etc?

Any information will be greatly appreciated as you are right, I am having trouble getting in enough Protein and I can really tell.

Yeah it is in liquid form only. I think that it is the way they pasturize the egg whites. They say you can keep them refridgerated up to 8mos and if opened 3-4mos. They can also be frozen. My Dr. wants me on 60g of extra Protein per day and I seem to go through them before they could ever go bad. I usually mix a cup with some sugarfree chocolate Syrup or sugar free coffee Creamers and enjoy. They are really good. Hope that helps :blushing:

does anyone know of a Protein powder/shake/whatever...

that does not have ANY aritificial sweetners. I cannot even use Stevia...i think there is another one too that is derived from sugar. I cannot think of the name right now.

I get Migraines from any of these types of sugars, and don't want to waste my money on them.

TIA,

With the egg whites you control what you add to them. There is nothing extra added into them so you can mix them with anything you want that isn't warm. If you don't want to add extra calories iced coffee is always good. Hope that helps!

on the site for the egg whites, it looks like they are saying it's 26g of protien in a CUP.

that seems like a lot of eggwhite to drink.

it seems like a GREAT alternative to protien powders/drink/bars for me since almost everything for me will have artificial sugars or steva (sp?) or splenda (that's the other name i couldn't think of yesterday!

I really like Braitric Advantage. They make great protien shakes. I mix mine with soy milk, as I am lactose intolerant. The soy makes the shakes extra thick wich is realy nice.

do you need to take Protein supplements for life? and around how much is it costing you per month?

No, you don't have to take Protein supplements for life but I can see myself always having it around. You do need it when you get fills because for 24-48 hours following, you need to be on liquids. I also like using it because it's a good thing for you body and great nutrition. It's good protein without the fat and high calories. Hard to say how much it will cost you per month because that depends on what stage you're at. In the beginning following surgery, you use it alot. I'm 7 months out and have a protin shake maybe a few times a week. powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury powder costs around $17.00 a container and you'll get 15-16 shakes from that. Comparing other supplements, this is very reasonable.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
