bakerboy 2 Posted February 16, 2009 smoking and banding. I will be banded soon, the nurse has told me to quit smoking which i have for 2 weeks till the procedure is done. 2 questions i had were. 1. it is super difficult to quit, what do i do?, i am taking medication for smoking and smoking 3-4 a day from 20, and those 3-4 are just 3-4 puffs per ciggerate, so basically if you combine 1 cig a day. is that ok? 2. After the surgery, for the post op, i require 3 weeks of liquid diet, how does this work? i can have any low calory liquid or just specifics like 1st week Soups, 2nd week juice etc? JASON R 0 Posted February 22, 2009 ok to begin with you need to stop smoking. that means no more smoking at all. and on the liguids i will tell you what i was told by my dr. 1-3 days Clear liquids,4-14 days full liquids, 15-to28 days soft food mushies. clear liquids= any thing you can see threw at room temp. full liquids = and thing that has nothing solid in it. i hope this helps. and please stop the smoking. you can do it. jubjub 1 Posted February 24, 2009 hey, well I still smoke, even after surgery. Im on like year 2 now and no problems at all. I don't smoke cigaretts though, but smoke is smoke I guess. No problems at all. Lap Band is to loose weight, not smoke. But that's just me. I have had no problems at all. Shit I smoked the same afternoon after my surgery. Just try not to cough, that could hurt a bit for a little while after surgery.
