ryan0501 0 Posted February 16, 2009 Hello everyone!!! I am new to the site and am 5-6 days post opt. I am doing pretty well my spirits are high and adjusting to the restricted diet of liquids. I wanted to know if anyone knew anything about a burning sensation near the port site. I have my normal soreness especially if I am too active. But I also get an occasional burning feeling wear below the incision for the port. Wasn't sure if this was normal or if I should call my doctor. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks:mellow:
RestlessMonkey 7 Posted February 16, 2009 Always call your doc if you are in doubt! I didn't have any burning pain and in fact didn't even know where my port WAS until my first fill...but regardless, you know yourself best. if it burns and seems "off" or different to you, call your doctor and ask! That's why we pay them the big bucks! HeatherO 7 Posted February 16, 2009 I had soreness or a burning sensation after surgery as well and I think it was part of the healing process for me. Mine was definitely not a problem. Definitely give your doctor a call just in case. You also want to keep your eyes open for signs of infection. This could be extra redness around the incision, a feeling of warmth around the incision site, swelling, puss or discharge.
