meal plan systems

Recommended Posts

I've been stuck on a plateau for about a month now. I think I'm not eating enough food. Plus it's hard to stick to all healthy choices, when I've got a pantry with questionable stuff in it. I have been thinking about getting the Nutrisystem meals sent to my house. :scared2: This way I would have a counted meal plan every day so it would be easier to keep track of. Who knows it's possible that a 30 day meal supply might last 40 days with the amount that I can eat.:crying: Has or is anyone else doing a food plan?

A few times during my journey I did Lite n Easy which is just a home delivered 1200 calorie a day diet here in Australia. It ALWAYS works for me, I always lose weight steadily and well. However I have found it much more difficult as a bandster, I can eat bread and things like that but its just too darn heavy on the carbs, even though i dont low carb it. I cant eat toast and Cereal for Breakfast, a roll for lunch AND rice at dinner time! The dinners are also WAY too big, I can eat about 1/2 and at the cost of this plan, that's not on. And I dont really want last nights reheated leftovers every second night.

But it definitely works of you stick to it.

I really like Nutrisystem and have been buying the 5 day flex plan. They have a lot more Protein than they used to and are really convenient for me. I'm doing the 5 day pouch challenge this week and then will go back to NS after my next fill.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
