GoddessNar 0 Posted March 8, 2009 My doctor told me that I need to be on a liquid-only diet for just two days prior to surgery. My surgery is scheduled for next month. I am going to have an EKG, chest x-ray, and I think a test for liver function a couple of days before the surgery. I wanted to schedule everything for my spring break so I can go back to work on April 13. I am on my way to the mall today to get a blender or hand mixer and some whey Protein powder. I plan to start replacing one meal a day with the Protein shake, but only for a few days before the liquids only stage. I've also asked my mom to send me sugar free Jell-O and some plain oatmeal from the States because I haven't been able to find those things here. There are lots of Soup options, though, and really great yogurt.
Lisa-R 0 Posted March 8, 2009 Hi Goddess Wow - you are lucky, just 2 days on liquid diet. Lots of other bandsters went for 2 weeks! I did one and it was tough, but I did stick to it. The hand blender is great - I got one and am now 'Queen of Soups' It is a handy piece of kit to have around. Good luck with your pre-op. Lisa
nfl1 0 Posted March 8, 2009 I love my Magic Bullet, it gives you so many options, and you can blend in the same cup that you drink from (and can simply screw a top on and bring it to work). It's also a whiz for the puree stage and really quick. I got mine from ebay. Nancy
