:Dancing_wub:Hello!!!!!

My name is becky.

I am hoping to get the lap band and i just joined a insurance company that seems to be promsing!

I wanted to tell you all a little about me

I am 23 and am married to my highschool sweet heart. We got married on 10-06-2006!!!!!

We are both in school right now and have 4 cats.

I grew up struggleing with my weight. We found out that i had hypothyroidism when i was 8. I was also diagnosed with asthma at that time. When i was 17 my doc found that I had nodules on my thyroid and had to have it removed in fear of cancer. good news is, there was no cancer, bad news is i gained over 100 lbs and now need too loose atleast 150 lbs. It makes me so depressed to see myself and I want the surgery so that I can enjoy my life. I keep my self inside because I am embarrased to be in public. I would like to travel and fit into those damn airplane seats!!! :tt2:

I LOVE who i am inside but hate how i look on the outside. I worry about what people think about me and it makes me so sad.

So keep your fingers crossed and hopefully insurance pulls threw!!!!!

If you would like to chat, go ahead and message me. I believe Friends are one of lifes precious gifts!!!!:rose::thumbup::rose:

Have a good day!!!

hello and you are too young to live your life hiding in your house --- this lap band is not easy but it is easier-

I do not eat near the amount of foods that I used to - I have been banded since 12/08 and have not lost a lot of weight but I am not overeating or gaining -- I have lost about 15-20 lbs but mine will be slower b/c I am on dialysis ---- I am saving money by not taking everyone out to eat and by not going to fast food places---- it does feel good not to eat so much --- or drink too much-- I do not mean booze -- I mean fluids-- I am on restricted fluids but would love to be able to drink all the fluids ---that does help in weight loss -- please get a grip on your weight while you are still so young - I am hoping for the best for you --- when do you think you will be able to do this surgery? at first I wanted to rip this band out of me--- it is not easy but it gets easier and you will adjust--- I no longer want to drink when I eat----- things become normal that you once thought never would be ---- good luck to you

Hi Becky. Beautiful name  Welcome to LBT. How wonderful that you are doing this while you are still young. I wish I had done it years and years ago. It is the best decesion I have ever made. Keep coming here and reading and ask any question that you have. People here are very nice and the more you know, the less scared you will be. I have made some very good friends here. It is so nice to communicate with people who know what it's like. It won't be long until you are banded, feeling better, and wanting to go out of the house more. And about those airline seat belts - gotta hate em!! When I flew to Houston for my surgery, I purchased an airline seat belt extender online (I was too embarrassed to ask for one). Now I can get the real one buckled with a little room to spare. Just think how nice it will be when you love who you are on the inside AND the outside!! Good luck to you!!! Becky

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
