No stickies in the FAQ forum?

Recommended Posts

Hello dearest Moderators,

I don't have a single sticky thread in the FAQ forum. I'm assuming that threads that are inactive after X time drop off and are archived someplace. What can I do to show the threads?

This is a question for Alexandra who is still on vacation I assume. I think she and Alex, owner of the board, started that category. I was shocked to see only some are listed.

If you can bump the threads with a short post then I can sticky them for you.

I can't bump them because I can't find them. I know that whey they were first placed in the new forum they were locked. No way to bump Donali's fabulous posts... or any of the other posts either

Hi ladies,

Those threads are still there, you just have to choose to display threads that are older than the last month (which is the default setting). We had envisioned that section as not being one for discussion, so we didn't think "sticking" the threads would be necessary. Bumping them isnt necessary, at least; just change the display date.

Okay, I will my change my options, but how will this be of any help to new people to the site if they have never seen them?

Am I missing something? Okay, wait, don't answer that... but still...

You're right, VQ. Maybe there's a way to change the default display date in that forum alone. I'll check into it and either do that or sticky the "evergreens." One way or the other, we won't lose the good stuff. :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
