Oh boy!! When do I get to be snobbish? How long after banding? I wanna be like the cool guys. Is there an announcement? An award? Some initiation rite?

**Tap bounces excitedly in anticipation of this**

I believe you get a toaster.

Miztrniceguy: "i'm not snobbish, but I am a smart-ass, cuz its better than being a dumb-ass."

And Mistrniceguy, you don't speak to the pre-banded because they are all dumb-asses, eh?

Tapping dancer, yes there is an initiation rite. It's called surgery. And with it you get less ass and therefore you become known as a smart-ass, and can lose the dumb-ass moniker.

It's a lot to look forward to.

Man...I thought you got a gold watch.

A toaster? I can't even eat toast anymore.

I am, of course, only addressing my post-band companions. Pre-banders need not respond...

Ok I will take one for the home team.

I admit it I am a snob under this definition:

A workman who accepts lower than the usual wages, or who refuses to strike when his fellows do; a rat; a knobstick.

Those who work for lower wages during a strike are called snobs, the men who stand out being "nobs" --De Quincey.

I really really need my job :cursing: :frown:

I'm with you, Glou. A toaster - bah humbug. I think the gold watch is for those who are at-or-below goal for 5 years OR for answering for the 1000th time 'What's a PB?'.

Ooh...those rascally newbies.

I think that's it...it's not the pre-banders, it's the baby-banders who ask dumb questions or eat 3 burritos.

Yeah, and when you getcher band, and you read what all the pre-banded or newbies (dumb asses) write, you LMAO, a lot. Hence the smaller ass.

I know I should be at goal because I have definitely answered "What's a PB" at least 5000 times! Who invented that term anyway?? Up-chuck-a-chunk is more appropriate.

I'm sorry, but I don't speak to the pre-banded.

Plain, I know that Dan is trying to be a comedian here, but I have to say that out of all the people I have met here, YOU are the funniest. :frown:

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
