Final Thursday Check - Valentine's Day Challenge

Recommended Posts

First of all, let me apologize for missing last week. I had a family emergency and everything got put on the back burner.

We can use this thread for our final weigh in's on Saturday. I know I am not going to make my 10 lb goal, but I may hit 5.

I looked at what I was eating and found that I was having a glass of wine each night, sometimes 2. I stopped that and think that helped me jump start again. I also found out that I am Vit D defecient and started back on the prescription form.

Start: 174

Now: 169

I don't know if I will lose anymore by Saturday, but who knows!

How did everyone else do with the challenge?

Hi Gilta,

Well I'm not going to make my 20 pound goal, but thats okay I lost 8 pounds. Any loss is better than none. I got a fill yesterday so I'm on liquids for the next two so maybe I'll lose 2 or 3 more. My margarita's this past weekend didn't help me. Mardi Gras starts this weekend so I'm going to try my best and behave (hopefully this fill works very well).

Hope everything is okay with your family!

** Happy Valentines Day **

***Happy Mardi Gras***

I've just made my Valentine's Day challenge goal as of this morning:

Starting weight: 169.7lbs

Goal: 159lbs

Today 158.6lbs

Well done everyone for your losses! Any loss is less weight than you had 6 weeks ago, so be proud of every single lb gone!

So, what's our next challenge going to be? Lol!

Start: 191.2

Goal: 181.2

Finish: 184.4

Loss: 6.8lbs

I'm really happy with that. I didn't think I was even going to do that much. I've been pretty sick all week so had a 3lb loss this week. Hopefully it holds once I get my appetite back!

Good job everyone!

Lellow, what about Easter as a new challenge? It's Sunday, April 12th this year. That would be about 8 weeks (if I counted right) starting tomorrow.

If everyone wants and Gilta wants a break, I don't mind doing the weekly threads for it. Let me know.

Gilta, hang in there. You've got a lot going on, it sounds like. Take care of yourself! (((Hugs)))

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
