Any Suggestions for Help?

2 weeks ago I had a fill which ended up being a big overfill. I couldn't swallow, my throat closed up on me, I would burp up huge amounts of acid at night so I couldn't even sleep. It was a pretty scary thing. When I went back to the doctor he told me what I already knew. I needed an unfill. I begged him to only take out a little bit but he said that I needed to heal and was going to take out half of my fill. So now I only have 3 cc's in a 10 cc band. At first this wasn't a problem. But as I started to feel better I also started to get really hungry too. I'm afraid I will stretch out my pouch that I have worked so hard to keep tiny. I am not due to go back to get more of a fill until March 4. Does anybody have any helpful hints as to what to do so I don't overeat and stretch my pouch? I have gained several pounds and freaked out about that, too.How do you deal with an unfill? Thanks to anyone who can help. Pam

I'm glad you're feeling better, Pam. I really thing the most important thing to do is to measure your food. I can't say how much you should eat, but personally, without restriction, I would still try to keep my meals under a cup. Some people eat as much as a cup and a half, but I wouldn't try it myself. Good luck!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
