1st post and 1st fill

Recommended Posts

Hey,

This is my first post, i've been lurking around and reading the forums. I just got my 1st fill yesterday. I wasn't feeling any restriction before my fill, and so far, I'm not feeling any of this 4cc fill. Hopefully, its just delayed which i've heard can happen.

Well look forward to losing weight with you all.

I didn't feel any restriction after my first fill of 4 cc either - I think that is pretty normal. I do feel restriction now after my second fill of 2 cc.

The full effects of a fill can be delayed for a week or so but understand that many people do not get good results from the first fill. You feel a little more restriction with each fill but on average it takes around four fills to get to your sweet spot.

Personally I didn't get anythign from my first fill, a little better with second, felt great with third and fourth but lost weight rapidly which caused the band to get loose. Fill five was when I hit my sweet spot.

I also had 4cc for my first fill. I really felt no difference at all. My weight pretty much hit a plateau during that period. However, my fill last week to 4.6cc has made a huge difference and I've lost 2.5 pounds already. I definitely feel restriction, although I don't think I've hit my sweet spot yet. I know patience with this process is so difficult, but you will get more restriction with each fill.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
