WASaBubbleButt 41 Posted February 19, 2009 I agree Wasa. I wonder if our government really thinks it would cause a collapse of our system if they began to enforce immigration laws when it comes to Mexicans. Because they do enforce the law when it comes to many other countries. It's the U.S./Mexico border where they carry a soft stick. And big business is behind keeping the illegal Mexican labor force available to them. I sure wouldn't call those folks liberals. When the freebie welfare dollars, medical care, education dollars, etc. come to an end then you'll hear this strong sucking sound as they all run back to their respective countries. It's not just Mexico, India is pretty much a horror in illegal immigration too. Start punishing the hell out of employers who hire these people and you'll hear that same sucking sound as they go home where they belong. Let them come back... legally. WASaBubbleButt 41 Posted February 19, 2009 I don't know what mantra I have repeated a gazillion times, but whatever... If you look, I included the right. I believe it USED to be a leftist issue, but now the righties have jumped on the same bandwagon. Everybody wants a piece of that voter-block pie, so all bets are off. And I also said if only because of McDummy's stance on illegals, I never really considered him a conservative. He only SEEMS somewhat conservative because it appears the left has moved SO far left that it makes run-of-the-mill democrats look like republicans. Who supports ILlegal immigration more than most? McDummy. Who did you vote for, Beth? Ohhh yes, I remember now. You voted for McDummy! Aren't you ever bit as much of the problem as the rest? The righty wingnuts started this, they got us to the point it is now, and someone sane and rational will have to fix that huge major mega problem ... too. So many ways the righty wingnuts screwed over this country. Too many to count.
BethFromVA 5 Posted February 20, 2009 Who supports ILlegal immigration more than most? McDummy. No doubt. Who did you vote for, Beth? Ohhh yes, I remember now. You voted for McDummy! Aren't you ever bit as much of the problem as the rest? I don't know who you have me mixed up with, but I didn't vote for him. Nor did I vote Nobama. I hated them both. The righty wingnuts started this, they got us to the point it is now, and someone sane and rational will have to fix that huge major mega problem ... too. So many ways the righty wingnuts screwed over this country. Too many to count. Obviously I disagree, but they are doing their fair share NOW, that's for sure. Gone4Now 4 Posted February 20, 2009 There was an email chain letter...or a joke..doesn't matter. It said something like put the illegals to work building the wall and digging moat, then add the alligators from FL to the moat, send the illegals back over the wall and then there are a bunch of problems solved at once. I'm tired and paraphrasing, but there is the gist. I think it was a joke, but I rather like the idea.

WASaBubbleButt 41 Posted February 20, 2009 I'm curious Beth, who did you vote for? She was pushing McDummy ALLLLLLLLLLL the freak'en way! She may claim she did not vote for McDummy, but she slam dunked anyone that didn't push for McDummy 100%. She tells one story today, she told a verrrry different story before the elections. BethFromVA 5 Posted February 20, 2009 She voted for me. Thanks Beth. Maybe 2012 will be my year. Yes, he's right. I voted for Plain. I'm starting a grassroots campaign for him so that maybe we can get idiots out of office and get back to the real people. :tt2:

Wasa, you're way out of line. I NEVER pushed for him. Hell, that was the one thing you and I agreed on (and you said so in posts) was that we both thought he was a blithering idiot! Maybe YOU don't remember the conversations, but I sure do. Just to add, I said time and time and time again that I hated them BOTH. I simply hated Obama a bit more because he was more hardline socialist. Edited February 20, 2009 by BethFromVA
BJean 16 Posted February 20, 2009 President Obama is not a "hardline Socialist." We've had it so bad under Dubya, anyone else looks extreme when in fact, it is Bush who is hard-line and extremist. Everybody used to scream at any of us who were anti-Bush when we bothered to point out all the reasons how he had systematically taken away our rights and was tearing this country apart. The people who think Bush is okay because he was making us safe just bought the B.S. he and Cheney were peddling. They should be brought up before a tribunal for their crimes against the state. I hope they do it and in an honest, open and forthright way so that Americans can stop kidding themselves about that administration. President Obama wants to get us back on a sensible path. By comparison to Bush, that looks Socialist to some people, but it is what America is supposed to be about. Some people can't see past the ridiculous idea that he is simply a tax and spend person. Well Bush was all about tax and spend but he didn't want to spend it on things that went to the betterment of this country. President Obama does want to improve this country. That's a socialist concept? Not hardly. I know, nothing I say will convince you. But if you would just pay attention to what the man plans and is actually doing, maybe you would get off that mantra of yours and give the dude a chance. You sure were willing to give Bush a chance by justifying his wholly dishonerable actions, for 8 long hideous years. (And I don't mean that you thought he was great and wonderful. But by not working to get him out of office, you did support him.)

It IS socialist when the government starts taking over businesses and dictating policy. And it started with Dubya. I went in eight years ago liking the man. By the end, I detested him. However, I never felt any of the alternatives were good. This isn't about Obama -- this is disputing Wasa's misguided belief that I was praying at the McDummy altar. I hated them both as choices and said it more than I can remember.
BJean 16 Posted February 20, 2009 Well I'm not taking sides here but I do remember during the campaign you saying you didn't like either of them. It seems that if you could stand anything that Bush did, you might as well have voted for him.
