March 9 surgery date

Recommended Posts

I was banded on 3/9 as well, but I wont get my first fill untill 4/23. At this point I have no restriction and can eat anything I want. I have had a couple of bad meals but for the most part I am still eating right, Working on small bites and chewing well.
As for the hungry part that is why they call this "Bandster Hell".
I keep in mind what it is that I am trying to accomplish, and the hungries don't seem so bad.

Thanks for your reponse, I feel better knowing that others are experiencing the same thing. I'm finding it really really difficult to eat right, I'm trying but it's really hard. I am also going into that negative "last supper" kind of place, b/c I know that once I have restriction things will be off limits. I guess all I can do is try, and hope that once Monday comes and I get my fill I'll have some real restriction.

Ait - have you looked at some of the recipes on here?? April Avengers has a pretty extensive recipe thread. My suggestion to you is that you need to tell yourself the things you ate before were part of your Pre-Band Life....now that you have moved into your New Banded Life those foods are off the menu....just because you can get it down doesn't mean that you should, and how guilty are you going to feel after you do??

I say save the indulgances for AFTER your band is giving your restricion and you can then enjoy a SMALL AMOUNT and be SATISFIED....

Yes I know this may be a while....but isn't that why you that why you started this journey to begin with?

Good Luck, Stay Strong!!!

But now..I have not lost a lb in the last week and a half to two weeks. I'm so bummed. I can't wait until my first fill on April 14th. How is every one elses?

I also feel like I am eating too much, particularly at night. During the day I am fine. I am eating a least a cup of food for dinner though and I am hungry. However I am satisfied after and will not eat again in the evening, snack included. My weight is going down then up a couple of pounds and then down again.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
