mslittle 1 Posted February 7, 2009 Recently, I had an upper respiratory infection. While all the other symptoms subsided, a really bad cough hung around. I've coughed so hard that I really wondered if that could damage my band. At night I would have coughing fits and produce a lot of mucus. Yuck! Any input of how to handle this problem would be greatly appreciated.
ethansgrandma 0 Posted February 9, 2009 Be very careful. i suffered a respiratory infection a little over a year ago and it resulted in my band slipping. i ended up having to have it removed and then replaced six months later. I went thru so much before i had it removed, i was very very sick and look liked death warmed over. had been hospitalized for a week before i was finally allowed to go see my band doctor who immediately transferred me to another hospital and i had the band out the following day. very traumatic. if i were you, i would contact your band doctor now and ask for a floroscopic to check on your band. i had talked to my band doctor early on in my process and she had told me she thought i was fine, but had they done a floro then it would have avoided everything i had to go thru.
