brand_e 0 Posted February 7, 2009 So Monday is my surgery and I have done everything I possibly can to prepare. I am so excited. I joined this community hoping to find people just like me and answers to questions doctors just can't answer. A lot of people ask me if I'm nervous and I'm not. I'm just really anxious to start losing weight. I've been slowing gaining weight since the birth of my son 4 1/2 years ago. I can't wait to be back to my normal self. I'm 31 year sold and I've got to get this under control before I get too old. The strange thing is I love to be active but since I have over 125 lbs of extra weight on me, nothing is fun to do. My back hurts, my legs fall asleep, I swell, I sweat, I lose my breath. It's crazy. I always notice that I am the fattest person in the room. I can't wait to start losing weight so I can do all the things my friends do. I'm looking to add friends, so hit me up!

One suggestion....bring lip balm with you to the hospital. My lips were so dry afterwards and could only take small sips of Water. Good luck !
NewYearNewMe 0 Posted February 7, 2009 I was not nervous before my surgery either! You will be so happy in a couple of days. I went back to work a couple of days after surgery and have not looked back since. I wish I would have had the option to have my band when I was 30 rather than 46 (now 47) - but it was so worth it. I'm almost 3 months out & would not change anything for the world. It took me almost 2 1/2 years to get approved too.......but it is sooo worth it. It was rough in the beginning but now it's smooth sailing so far. It's a huge learning experience but there is tons of great advice & knowledge here. So best wishes to you as you start your "new" life to a thinner & happier & healthier self!!
