I asked my surgeon if I could have a photo of my "insides" during surgery. I find it fascinating that this is me!

Top left of the photo is my liver, with the band - as yet "unclasped" - around the top of my stomach. I was shocked to see the fat around my stomach - don't know why really, that's why I had the op :cursing:

Unfortunately, that is the only one I have.

When I asked Shaw if he would take a print off the monitor, he said he thought the printer was broken, but that he would use his own mobile phone instead. I was pleased as I thought he could take more pics, including some of me on the table whilst he operated on me. Alas, the printer was working so he just took that one shot.

Glad I've got it though. How rare to see one's own "insides" :cursing:

My doc took a before and after picture and gave them to my husband after my surgery. I thought it was kinda neat.

I had asked my surgeon if he could take a picture a while back, then I forgot to remind him before surgery. Thankfully, he has a great memory and got me a picture. I only have one, and it's of the band after it's been placed. I'm glad I have it; my hubby thinks it's weird. :)

My surgeon gave me a series of four pictures - first one shows them lifting my liver, second one shows my stomach before banding, third one shows my stomach with the band on it, and the fourth one shows after they put my liver back down. He gave the picture to me when I was in recovery, but I was out of it and didn't take it home with me. Luckily it had my name on it and it ended up back in my file. He mailed it to me. I showed some people - I think it looks cool.

Mine gave me two or three sheets of pictures with about four pictures each sheet during the operation. I also got to see my hiatal hernia before and after he fixed it. It's way cool. If I still had my gall bladder, they say that looks really neat -- robin's egg blue.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
