I was banded two days ago and have now developed a rash all over my stomach. Has this happened to anyone else?

I had the same thing. But mine was just around my cuts. I think its from the clear bandage they put over them. Mine lasted about 2 weeks.

It's not uncommon but call your doc tomorrow just to be sure...Monday is a long way away if it isn't just something "routine".

I had the same thing. It was from the glue from the bandages. My doc removed them & the staples after 7 days & I put cortisone cream on it & it cleared up in about 5 days.

The same exact thing happend to me. It hurt really bad and it was very itchy I took Benedryl for three days only because it put me to sleep and I didn't have to deal with the pain or itchy. I went to the Emergency Room and they gave me some cream that didn't really help either. Turns out there is something in the prep they use called Chlorhexidine that I am allergic to and now have to list it as an allergy. I work in a hospital with the stuff all the time and have to be very careful. I think you should call your Doctor and see what he thinks about it mine lasted for 10 days and was all over my belly not just near the cuts.

Exact same thing happened to me. NP gave me MethylPREDNISolone tablets 4mg for 6 days. After 2 days it was starting to get better, by day 6 the problem was totally gone.

WARNING: Steroids = Hunger. But, if your very early on hunger is less an issue as gas.

I was banded on the 29th and I started itching about 3 days ago. Mine actually started near my waistline. It's just a small area there, but I also have one small line of rash near where my port is. It's very itchy and kind of looks like small blisters.. I'm going to call my doc today..

I had a bad rash, but not on or near my incisions. My doc told me to take Benadryl and it helped. Still lasted about a week but is all better now!

Same thing happened to me. First I thought it was a reaction to the abx but it turns out I was allergic to the adhesive from the bandages. I took benadryl and that make a big difference. I also had a reaction to the Neosporin hat I was using, so I stopped that. I guess I’d say call your doctor to make sure but probably taking any kind of antihistamine would help (i.e. benadryl, Claritin, zyrtec ,ect)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
