Ok first off let me share that I went to the doctor's yesterday and I am down 13lbs (YEAH ME). Now on to the reason I am posting...I need to VENT!!! So I call my work yesterday and let them know that I can return to work on Monday. My doctor agreed to let me go back as long as I take it easy. So my main boss is like "great cant wait to have you back. By the way come in tomorrow so I can talk with you before you come back on Monday for work", ok no problem there. So I go in this morning to talk with my room lead (I am a pre-school teacher), and my main boss. They are pulling me from my room, now mind you before I left they were all like "we are going to miss you so much and cant wait for you to come back, your such a great worker, counldn't ask for anyone better". My co-workers and the kids in my room, have pushed me to work at getting better sooner so I could go back to work. They were my motivators in pushing myself just a little bit further. I kept telling myself "walk just a little further you want to go back to work and be with your friends and the kids","I know I am hurting but lets not take a pain pill for it just push through it cause you cant go back to work on your pain meds". I am so hurt right now I cant even see straight. My room lead told me that the girl that they put in my room while I was gone is just AWESOME:ack2:. She is just really pleased with her and thinks she is good for the room. HELLO, what happened to "your the best Tina, couldn't ask for more". I dont know maybe I am being a big baby about this, and maybe its cause I feel like everything has been a lie. But I am the type of person that doesn't do that to a friend, and we were all suppose to be friends. We would hang out on the weekends and text each other at night. I just am really upset and I feel like I am being punished for having my surgery:crying:. I feel like if I wouldn't have left then I would still have my room (I still have a job but my hours are going to go down the toilet cause I wont be in a room). Sorry for the pitty party I am having I just dont know who to talk to about it. If your reading this thanks it means alot.

Tina

Hello Tina,

Congrats on your surgery and welcome to the new you! I am so excited for you and the new woman you are and going to become. I believe when one door closes God opens up another! Not sure why they had two faces at work, but truly it happens and it did happen to me also, but I have learned that people do have two faces and some have three faces, but it is important to know that you are important person and that you love yourself and just look at it as they have the problem and not you. When you go back to work please look at the positives in this you have a job if you feel like looking around you can, but just for now it's a change you are going through. Don't turn to food for comfort you are doing so well and will continue to do so.

I wish you the best and yes it's okay to vent we all have too - its not a problem I just love that you let it go now when you go back you are the better person just keep your head up and look at all the weightloss to come. Have a great year of weightloss.

Thank you sisterc, getting your reply really meant alot to me. I am trying very hard to be strong and not turn to food (that is what I would have done in the past). But I am not about to let them undo what I have started. My mom told me "just hold your head high and cowgirl up"(we are from the country lol). But I really do appreciate being able to talk with folks that understand what I am going through and how hard it is. Thanks again for being there for me.:bananalama:

Wow! Can they do that? Are you protected by Family Medical Leave? Don't they have to restore you to the same or similar position/pay?

Hi af_wife75 -

What base are you at? I'm guessing you work at the CDC?

I work at the CDC at Davis Mothan AFB in Tucson AZ. As for if they can do it or not, I dont see why they cant. They didn't fire me just took my room from me. And right now I dont know that I would want it back. Dont think I can face those that I use to call friends.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
