whimsyetc 0 Posted February 5, 2009 Hello, all --- I will be getting my band in mid-March, after a long year of evals, testing, and being sidetracked with a hip replacement revision in July. But now I'm within a month of this huge step. I'm VERY excited, and just need some feedback from you experienced banders on the best way (for ME) to tell family and friends that I'm heading into this surgery. My psych session emphasized that this surgery is NOT to "get rid of something bad" (weight), which is the basis for feeling embarrassed about it, but instead is taking control of my health and quality of life. How did you all handle this? :bananalama:

Everyone has been very supportive. :present: The surgery is going to be a good thing for you. Good luck! :cheers2:
