Can Tolerate Meat better now..

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'm almost 5 months out since being banded and really feeling and looking good. I was a size 26 when I started and currently at a size 22. I've noticed lately that I can tolerate chicken and fish a little more then before, the key for me is to eat slow and take small bites, and not to rush through my meals. If I can't finish my meal, I try to eat half of it, and then about 10 minutes later eat the rest, this works. I have had 2 fills, currently at 1.85cc's, don't think I will get another one at my follow up on August 25. I don't pb like I use to and I don't vomit, only if something gets stuck, which is not often now. I'm down about another 10lbs but don't want to publish it until it's official on my doctors scale.

Congratulations, Corgi :)

I've found that I can eat meat quite well too now. I think the trick is really learning how to slow down and chew properly. Have even had a few meals out and ordered a nice steak, with no problems at all. Course, I haven't been able to finish it all, but I'm not fussed by that heh.

That is great for you..I know you have to feel good.

I have had no problems with Fish and most chicken (it's to dry it doens't do well) That is about all I have tried doing...I to don't like PBing so I stay away from things that could cause it. Now with that said I was just filled tuesday and can start back to mushies today so we will see how it goes...

I'm still having trouble being able to chew steak well enuff to swallow it without.....problems.....if I whiz it up with a little yoghurt, making in effect a 'steak smoothie'

YUCK!! Bet we aren't going to be seeing that on menus anytime soon!
