Hi all,

I did a search for this, and didn't find anything that really answered my question, so I apologize if this has been discussed before.

I'm 3.5 months out from my surgery (Oct. 16, 2008) and am down by 40 lbs -- I've only had 1 fill, too. I seem to have hit a plateau the last few weeks though.

Now, I am struggling with eating habits -- foods aren't the problem, nor amounts. I have difficulty eating an actual 3 meals a day, though I do try. I'm really trying to keep to a schedule of:

Doesn't always work as planned, as I am not used to eating Breakfast (I've spent the last 33 years not eating a morning meal -- it's hard to break the habit). As a result, I know that I'm not always getting enough Protein.

I seem to have hit a wall at 306. I recently started bellydance classes (yes, bellydance). Perhaps I need more exercise? Another fill? Any suggestions on breaking the plateau?

Tara

Hey there.............I'm almost 3 months out and have lost almost 50 lbs and have one fill also so were almost in the same boat,I too feel like I've hit a plateau.......I'm stuck between 207 & 209.I haven't been faithful about exercising so in that respect your one up on me.I have been evaluating my eating habits,I cant really make more than 2 or 3 hours without being hungry so I think I'm in need of a fill. But I also think I've been eating more carbs than Protein so I'm trying to work on that.

Hope any of this mumble-jumble helps, but at least were not alone......I see my Doc next week so I hoping a little filler-up will help with the hunger!Hang in there!

I was told by the nutrionist that when you hit a plateau it is wise to start to write down everything you eat and defintely make sure to excersise. She also mentioned the importance of changing your excercise routine which could mean for example if you are using a treadmill for 20 minutes a day boost is up to 30 and increase the incline. When exercising you must be at your target heart rate in order to burn calories.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
