Blaze21 5 Posted February 3, 2009 After searching for a personal trainer with not luck, I was thinking about joining my local ymca. I just found out that they offer personal training services. Their rates are $120 for 3 sessions, 6 for $240 + a free session, etc. I've worked with personal trainers in the past, with good results. Has anyone here used the ymca's personal training services? Doxie 2 Posted February 4, 2009 I recently joined the Y and at mine, if you join their "Commit to Be Fit" program you get 5 sessions free. The first is a fitness assessment and then each of the others is showing you the equipment and helping you work out a plan. I may see about getting some of the one on one training later but for now I'm happy with the free sessions.
Blaze21 5 Posted February 4, 2009 Unfortunately my Y only offers 1 on 1 or group training. I don't know anyone in my area, so getting a deal on the group training is out. Oh well, I'll see how my funds are and take it from there. Thanks!
SpiritDriven71 1 Posted March 2, 2009 I am Y member, and plan on working with a PT after my surgery. You might want to check your Insurance Company. I have Bc/Bs of Pa, they will refund me partial of the membership fee, if I attend certain amount of days at the Y in a years time.
Blaze21 5 Posted March 2, 2009 The Y that I'm interested in joining will charge me $2 per visit for the first 18 visits, then my insurance will cover the rest of the program fee. They won't cover personal training though.
