Patty Zody 0 Posted February 3, 2009 I was banded 11/30/07 and that has been over a year ago - wow! Still learning the ins/outs as I have never asked for help. The never ending feel of a burp in my throat and food stuck on top of the birp. Still working this out and not sure what to do. Patty
kiz 1 Posted February 3, 2009 Hi Patty, and welcome to LBT. I'm sorry you've had that feeling for so long. It must be miserable. Do you feel like your band is too tight? Are having PB's and/or getting stuck often? Also, have you talked to your doctor about it?
TQUAD64 9 Posted February 3, 2009 Patty, how is your after care going? Perhaps a slight unfill is necessary?
Patty Zody 0 Posted February 3, 2009 My fills nad unfills are fine. No problem there. I just seem to always have a birp feeling after eating. I do drink OCCASIONALLY with food and maybe that causes that bubble. I just realized was a PB was. My doctor said that maybe I was sliming and I have never heard that term but have not done anysupport or help classes as I work all of the time. I am just now ready to take the time and figure the issues out. Every now and then something bothers me enought that I have to go and "puke" for a better word and then I am all better. That must be the PBs. Patty
Patty Zody 0 Posted February 3, 2009 I am just now getting into the learning phase of what I need to do to fix some issues. I have dealt with them for 15 months and I am ready to end the craziness. Hopefully this forum will help as I am at the proper adjustment and do not need anything now. I just started having really bad reflux at night (waking me up with liquid choking me) and heartburn during the day. Drs trying to figure out if lap band has messed witht hat sphyncter muscle in there. Have lost about 65 lbs total. Patty, how is your after care going? Perhaps a slight unfill is necessary? kiz 1 Posted February 4, 2009 Patty, I'm glad you came back and updated a bit. People on LBT are at every phase of the process, and I'm sure you'll get support to help you through this. I was able to start support classes prior to my surgery, and I found them to be very helpful. I still attend the monthly meetings. I hope now that you have some more time at home, that'll you'll be able to utilize the support group in your community. You are correct about what a PB (productive burp). Sliming (kind of a thick saliva or mucus) comes up when you have a stuck episode. I haven't had a PB, but I have had the sliming episode twice for about five mins each time, and it wasn't anything I want to have happen again.
