123008 0 Posted February 3, 2009 Hi everyone! My doctor is unavailable through email - he's out for some reason and does not want emails till he returns. I was banded almost 5 weeks ago with the new AP band filled with 3cc's. I'm recovered... I really don't feel any pain or even the band or port. And I've been walking and using the eliptical. I just started cycling classes today and noticed there were a bunch of times the instructor asked to tighten our abs to do certain manuvers. Do you think I'm OK to do cycling and hitting the weight machines? How soon after surgery were you using the weight machines and performing some ab exercises? THANKS for any advice!! MacMadame 81 Posted February 3, 2009 They all have different answers so I can only tell you what I was told. I was okayed to go back to the gym at 2 weeks. I was doing the stationary bike at that time.
susan1961 0 Posted February 3, 2009 I was allowed to do cardio right away, and was riding 20 miles on my bike within 2 weeks. I was told 4 weeks for weight lifting and for pilates, which is intense ab work. At 5 weeks, I'd be surprised if your surgeon advocated any activity restrictions at all.
