OMG Hold Me Back the Girl Scouts are Coming!

Recommended Posts

I know, I know, I can do this. After all, I survived Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Eve, and the Super Bowl with my new Band.

But when I saw the billboard today that said, "The Girls Scout Cookies are Coming" it freaked me out. OMG, my favorites are coming back. You think I'm crazy don't you? But I love those darn cookies and they are only here once a year. It is going to take all my Band will power and the support of my LBT buddies to get me through this.

I used to buy the Trefoils, freeze them, then eat a sleeve of frozen Cookies. The Thin Mints are just as delicious frozen. Yum. This year, I purchased cookies and then checked the option to donate the cookies to the food bank.

They are putting less cookies in each box this year so you will get less calories per box at least!!

Well, I plan on making the thin mints I bought last several weeks in stead of finishing them off in days.

We don't get the girl scouts selling Cookies where I live. Thank goodness for that.

sigh. I am a girlscout co-leader and I am about to be in cookie HELL

OMG how will you ever do that? I love supporting Girl Scouts, their programs rock! Those Cookies rock!

I just have to be strong and not consume a whole box in one sitting like my pre-band days. I don't think I can physically eat a whole box now that I am banded, but ohhhh the temptation.

i bought the one box that i can do w/out (hubby's fav) - thin mints. in the freezer; he calls them his junior mint Cookies.< /p>

i'm not a cookie person, but if the girl scouts got in the chip business - they have a customer for life!

They are a killer, especially the classics, the thin mints and the plain sugar kind.

I can't resist buying them from those cute little girls, but now have an outlet for eating them. I send them to the troops in Iraq or Afganistan. You wouldn't believe how well recieved the Cookies are by the troops AND the locals.

It feels even better than eating them to give them away to a just cause!

I intend on eating a box of Cookies with my kiddos. One day of junk food wont hurt me at all. Might give me a tummy ache, though.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
