My question is for when we are on full solids. I am there but I have not had a fill yet, so I don't know the feeling of being full with small amounts right now. So I can't tell if Cereal with milk is ok. Does the milk make it slip right through the band, and act like we are drinking while eating? I am not talking about 1 cup of milk, I am talking 1/4 cup milk with 1/2 cup Cereal.< /p>

Tell me what you think.

Thanks!

I eat cereal quite frequently for Breakfast and sometimes as a snack at night time. I buy the Kashi GoLean Crunch (9gr protein), or the regular GoLean (10gr protein) and use 1/2 or less of an Atkins vanilla Protein Shake for the milk which adds another 7gr Protein. A serving of this cereal according to the box is a whole cup, and you don't find that very often. I just let it soak a bit, and there's not much liquid left in the bowl. I also use the shakes for the liquid in the quaker high protein oatmeal. I do find that it doesn't hold me quite as long as a more substantial breakfast would, but I don't have any trouble making it to lunch time. I couldn't even finish my whole cup this morning, it is very filling, my 2yo finished it off for me. You can put this stuff on a lot of things, like mixed into yogurt or even cottage cheese.< /p>

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
