heatherv 0 Posted February 2, 2009 I was just curious if anyone got weighed yet. My scale needs a battery and my hubby wouldn't get a new one! He said I didn't want to get on the scale now. My post-op is on Friday so I guess they will weigh me there. :w00t:
Makulafamy 55 Posted February 2, 2009 My first post op appt. isnt until Thursday. I just weigh at home. I am down 24 pounds, including pre-op and post-op. After surgery I had gained 10 pounds of Water weight from the IV, but thats gone now pluse 11 more! It might be a good thing you cant weigh yourself. It becomes a tad addictive. I weigh myself every morning on my Wii fit ( I know a bit much) but I like seeing the minus sign....plus it keeps track of your BMI. I go for my first post op on Thursday. Holabbie 0 Posted February 3, 2009 I had surgery on the 27th I am down 14 pounds from pre-op to now. I don't see the surgeon until the 12th of February. Tonight my husband and I attended a lap band support group put on by the dietician at my surgeons office. It was interesting to talk with those who are experienced plus some newbies like me. I asked about using Boost during the two-week post-op clear liquid diet stage and the dietician explained that the reason they recommend Boost is that it has enough Vitamins, minerals and carbs to be considedred a Meal Replacement. The Atkins Protein shakes only have 2 carbs each and that is not enough to supply the body/brain with the nutrients it needs to function well. Sadly, I was concerned about the high calories in the Boost so I did buy some Atkins shakes. I will just alternate them to use both of them and then just keep some on hand for when I am on liquids after a fill.
