Recommended Posts

Hi All Stars!

Today marks the month of our 6 month bandiversaries!

Let's take stock and Celebrate our achievements!

Today (1st March) is my bandiversary. My achievements:

  • lost 85% of my excess weight
  • went from an (Australian) size 22 to a size 10/12
  • Went from a waist size of 45inches to 34 inches (with excess skin)
  • Went from a fat percentage of 45% to 33%
  • Went from a BMI of 37.4 to a BMI of 28
  • have found fitness!
  • my risk of diabetes and heart disease are markedly decreased

There are a lot of over NSVs along the way, but these stats speak for themselves.

I am proud to say that I am a very happy bander!

Lellow,

Great Job. I can't believe we are all approaching our 6 month band-a-versery. It has been an amazing journey so far. I truly appreciate the August All Star network. I have learned so much from our group.

Gilta - great job too.

I hit a plateau and am stuck at the 48 lb mark. I'm not complaining.... I am still dedicated to the treadmill and sit ups but started with the wine/beer on the weekends during the holidays that counter my hard work. I get my 4th fill Feb 20th. I'm at 3ccs.

I am dedicated to start my second 6 months with more will power and dedication.

Let's all keep fighting for success......

Gary B.

I have lost a total of 67 pounds all but 15 or so came from the band. Since the band with exercise I have lost:

4.5 inches from my bust

2.5 inches from my waist

4.5 inches from abdomen (the pouch area)

5 inches from each thigh

Size 24/26 to a size 18/20

I am actually looking forward to warmer weather so that I can start walking and swimming again. I will NEED a new swimsuit, I have had the same one for 5 years.

My 6 month bandiversary was February 4th and I celebrated with these stats:

61 pounds lost

Went from a size 26 to an 18/20

BMI dropped from 52.2 to 41.9

I work out 5-6 days a week at Curves

For the first time I really feel like I am finally going to reach goal. I've never lost this much before. I'm 1/3 of the way there and going strong!

Great job All Stars! I too am very happy with my band. I really don't know what my measurements were but I do know the day of surgery I wore size 24-26 stretch waist pants! Today I wear a 12! Hope to get to an 8 but 10 is good too!

Keep up the good work everyone.

jimmielou,

I do have significant amounts of excess skin, not just from weight loss but also from having 4 big babies. I would have had this amount of excess skin even if I'd lost weight slowly, my reconstructive surgeon has assured me.

I'm having a torso lift in less than 2 months.

I've been so fat for so long that I don't think anything is going to prevent me from having saggy skin. I'm doing what I can to tone up the muscles underneath though. That should help a lot in the long run (I hope)

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
