:thumbup:Hi there. I'm just geting started at this. My next appoinment is with the surgeon at Good Sam in Portland Oregon. For you right coasters that's really "Ory-gun". The early pioneers didn't know how to spell it correctly and it has continued to confuse ever since.

I am a 65 y/o dentist who has been heavy all my life. I hope to loose 75-100 pounds.

I anticipate surgery around the middle of April.

Best of success to all of you.

Welcome to LapBandTalk!

I a Best Coaster too, but in CA. I started out wanting to lose 75 lb. am now aiming for a little over 90 and my surgeon thinks I can lose more. So we sound like we're in a similar range.

With a "right coast" and a "best coast" I guess that makes me the "other coast"! Allentown, PA.. an hour from the Atlantic. I was just banded 12/22/08 and am down 27 lbs. with 100+ to go. Long journey but it's going to be worth it! For us all!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
