Exercises for flabby arms....actually for whatever the area under the bicep is called

Recommended Posts

After having lost 56 pounds so far, I'm left with terribly saggy arms....the best way to describe the area is to call it my bat wings. Although its smaller than it was, its very loose and would like to start working on firming it up. Does anyone know of a good exercise to target that area? I would really appreciate the input.

You can do these using a kitchen chair too, just make sure it won't slide back on you.

i read a post somewhere else where a longtime bandster did up to 300 pushups every other day and that really helped her tone her arms. to me that seems a bit much, but maybe you can incorporate push up into your routine.

also, pick up a set of 5 and 10lb handweights. it's great to do various arm exercises while watching tv at night... do a youtube search on tricep exercises, bicep exercises and arm exercises for some how to. also, ask one of the trainers at your gym for some tips.

300? Overkill, lol

I do about 30 pushups 3 times a week and 30 tricep dips the same, and my arms are great. And I find generalised upper body strength exercises using body weight (exactly like dips and pushups) are enough to tone biceps and deltoids too - I dont do any specific exercises for those muscles and mine are quite defined.

I also do a circuit hoiking a sandbag around and you will feel that in EVERY muscle in your arms.

Hello, if you go to Sparkpeople.com which is a free service, you can utilize their collection of upper body videos. These free videos show you how to properly work on your upper body with weights and show you exactly the area that you are toning up.

I use it all the time. Plus, if you are into tracking calories and exercise for free then this web site does that too.

I would suggest three exercises:

For each exercise do 3 sets up to ten reps, if you go beyond ten reps add more weight. Do this twice a week.

1. Triceps push downs

2. Overhead triceps extensions with a dumbbell really helps the underside of the arms

3. Lat Pull Downs with a wide (slightly wider than shoulder width) Even though this is primarily a back exercise, it helps the triceps area from a firmness and skin "pull" perspective.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
