Octuplets and SIX other children??!!!

Recommended Posts

The medical community gave us all Lap-bands.

Such dumbasses.

ROTFLMAO!!! Totally missed that fact! :tongue2:

The medical community also births our babies, gives us transplants, heals broken bones, finds cures for illnesses, treats cancer, can make some deaf people hear with implants, gives us new limbs when our old ones are gone... I could go on and on.

Guess Patty has never EVER gone to a dumbass doctor. For ANYthing. LOL

It is just not wise to have so many children and you can not afford them. I do not wish evil upon her nor her chilldren. I pray God gives her an excellent way to support them. I do not want CPS to take them, so I will pray for God to send her the support she needs. What's done is done, we can not change it. People threatening to kill her (accordinjg to the news) and all that violent stuff is wacko too.

I would suggest prostitution as a good career path; with those lips she could suck chrome off a trailor hitch (as my husband would say) and, ethically speaking, she has already been dabbling in those waters, hasn't she?

ACTUALLY.. I read an article yesterday (I hate myself for paying attention to it anymore), she has not had sex in over 8 years (or 14 kids, however you look at it). She thinks it would be selfish of her to date. Yeah, THAT'S what is selfish.

Who are they? They are the ones with the education that have taken the time to learn what all prematurity does to children. I am not making premature infants out to be lesser, as I say my own granddaughter was a preemie, and according to her pediatrician, she will always be at a higher risk of certain diseases, as well as SIDS, and respiratory infections, due to the underdeveloped lungs that most preemies are born with.

Whether or not a medical specialist does abortions has absolutely ZERO to do with the prematurity issue, it is simply your way to introduce yet another religious issue into the thread, we are used to it.

We were told that where they used to require a baby to be 5 pounds to leave the hospital, they no longer work on that premise. The baby has to show that it can regulate it's own body temperature, and oxygenate as needed, although some are allowed to go home on oxygen. And that is for ALL babies, not just preemies. Our granddaughter was home at 4 pounds 4 ounces, she never required any oxygen, and was home in 3 days---because she warmed up, and stayed that way, not requiring any heat lamp beds....Her temperature regulated normally. She had suffered from intrauterine growth restriction for minimally 2 weeks, so they figured she had developed strength during that time despite the size.

On the other hand one of my best friends had a grandson recently who was born full term, and weighed in over 7 pounds, but was kept for 6 days because he could not keep his body temp up, and actually went home on oxygen for 2 weeks.

I for one, with my preemie granddaughter, and a grandson born at a mere 5 pounds, and incredibly grateful for the knowledge of the professionals in the medical community.

I cannot imagine the ups and downs in the future of these 8 babies! The risks for infants this small is huge.

Shalee--I am so glad your DD's are well. We were told girls do much better at those weights than boys---they have a higher survival rate.

Kat

I always your responces Kat!

and your right about these preemies, yours , mine , everyones, being at higher risk for certain diseases for a long time to come. My girls are 23 and one of them still will catch every cold, flu ,ect going around no matter what precautions she takes to prevent them. My 1 pound twin came home at 4 lbs also, when she was 1 yr old she was a whopping 8 lbs. Uhmmmm she was still a preemie Pattygreen, It took her years to try and catch up. and to this day she still is on the small side. she has mild CP and a learning disability. and No I don't/didn't get any disability for her. We do it on our own.

I hope and pray that none of those 8 babies has any of these problems because its hard with just one. Again I say this octo mom is selfish and her kids will suffer becasue of it. You can't give enough of yourself alone to 14 kids each day. you just can't.

Who cares what the medical community says? Who are they anyway? The medical community aborts children, so I don't always take what drs. have to say as law. They may be 'considered' premature, but that's not what they are any longer. Babies that are born early are premature till they reach the 5 lbs. that is acceptable for them to leave the hosptal, which is what a full term baby is when they are born. (I will not doubt that some premies can have some problems in development later, but so do some full term babies)

I for one care what the medical community says. If it weren't for copatent(sp) Dr's I wouldn't have my twins who were born 4 months premature. I wouldn't be alive either for that matter. Yes there are some bad Dr's out there but I feel that God gave us smart people to become Dr's and that they are here to help us.

To deny that preemies experience problems on average for years to come is as ignorant as saying the medical community don't know what they are talking about.

I care! They are the ones with all the training, etc. Do you listen to what your band dr says or do you just tell him to blow it out his... ear?

Patty, your posts are like train wrecks. I just can't help myself. I have to read and am usually just amazed at the fact that you just don't live in reality. And there's never any logic to your posts!

And again, yes, preemies are considered preemie for their entire lives. They did NOT finish their gestation in the womb. They can not make up that time. They may be physically fine and thriving but they are still premature and always will be.

This is not the opinion of one fly by night doctor in the medical community but hundreds of EXPERTS that have done their research, treatments and studies. Last I heard, you have never been a doctor, tho it seems you've done everything else in your life.

And KAT, I love your posts. You're always so eloquent.

(Like I said before, I was talking about them not using a term that makes sense. Not that drs. don't know what they are doing.)

You know what Beth? You are the meaneast , nastiest, name calling person I have ever come in contact with. Tell me, is there anyone that you haven't bashed with your tongue? I can imagine those who live with you and are around you on a daily basis. I bet they are abused verbally. You need to take a hard look at yourself, because you have a bad problem with belittling and putting others down. Maybe deep down inside, it's what you enjoy. How twisted. Or maybe because you were fat you have a poor self image and calling names or putting others down repeatedly when they don't agree with you on things makes you feel better about yourself. Is that it? How about seeing one of those drs. in the field. You know, those psychiatrists. Maybe someone can help you with your problem.:tongue2:

You know Patty, you get off on calling others SO JUDGMENTAL, and casting stones, and how dare they, that is so NOT being christian, etc, etc,... blah, blah, blah. And yet, you continually do the SAME EXACT THING!!!!!!!

And the word "premature" is very accurate in the case of these children. It is a fact of their birth and they will always BE premature because they were born BEFORE they were matured in the womb. It doesn't define WHO these kids are, it is just a fact of their birth. No more, no less.

My DD was adopted. She will ALWAYS be a child of adoption. It isn't WHO she is, it is a fact of her young life. So do we change that somehow because we don't like the term (not me, but others)?

A person who was born disabled, will ALWAYS be disabled. It is not WHO they are, it is just a fact of their life. It doesn't define them (for those who don't let it define them). It is just fact. Do we change the name of their disability because someone doesn't like the medical term for it?

I am trying to make a point here but I'm seriously in doubt that you'll get it. I don't know why I keep trying.

That's not what you said. What you SAID was: "Who cares what the medical community says? Who are they anyway? The medical community aborts children, so I don't always take what drs. have to say as law."

You discount them because YOU disagree with them -- and disagree with them because SOME abort babies. Your words are there for all to see. You do a mean backstroke, though, gotta give you that.

You know what Beth? You are the meaneast , nastiest, name calling person I have ever come in contact with.

Really?? Because I said that what you said is ignorant? Hell, honey, you have either led a VERY sheltered life or you are just unreal. You haven't even seen me in a bad mood yet! :tongue2:

Tell me, is there anyone that you haven't bashed with your tongue?

Yes, plenty. Those who are normal. Those who are not ignorant. Those who are decent. Those who are not full of themselves. Those who can actually have a freakin' conversation without interjecting God into every little thing and making the thread about themselves. Those who are realistic. Those who aren't know-it-alls. You don't fit into any of those categories, and I know there are more. Wish for me to go on?

I can imagine those who live with you and are around you on a daily basis. I bet they are abused verbally.

You'd be wrong. AGAIN.

How about seeing one of those drs. in the field. You know, those psychiatrists. Maybe someone can help you with your problem.

Yeah, I've thought the same thing about you, except you'd start telling him or her how wrong they are and how you know their job better. Then you'd start rolling on the floor and speaking in tongues. :tt2::rolleyes::lol:

How is it that EVERY. FREAKIN'. THREAD that Patty gets involved in eventually becomes ABOUT her? How self-centered and egotistical does one have to be to be able to do that every single time?

This thread WAS about octopussy having 183 kids and saying how wonderful it is that she now has a brood about her ankles to love and adore her and fill her life with the love she didn't get as a child, essentially giving them a job to do before they are born.

If you can't stay on topic and quit making it about YOU, Patty, I respectfully ask that you refrain from posting. Better yet, create your own board where everybody can sit about YOUR ankles and revere you as the godlike being you appear to believe you are. :tongue2:

WOW, a whole post by you that you did not use the word 'god' or 'jesus'. I am shocked, I would have thought you were incapable of speech without those two words. Although, you ruined it for me with your 'abort children' comment although I am far from surprised. I dont think there is anything you do or contemplate that does not involve injecting your own over-zealous religous agenda into. Frankly, while it disgusts me, I find it incredible amusing. I hold you up as the example of the type of christian woman I try to avoid.

Kettle? Yeah, Pot here. You're black. :tongue2:

I wonder how many potential Christians you have run off because of your nastiness disguised as Christianity.

I've spoken to God. He's pissed. He told me to tell you to hush before He turns you into a frog.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
