Octuplets and SIX other children??!!!

Recommended Posts

No I did not see it, I was at work, but CNN has info on it. I cannot wait to see the interview. But here is her picture on CNN.

Octuplets' mom: 'All I ever wanted' - CNN.com

Who the heck is going to watch all those kids while she is in school. When can she go to school? Even if she does Internest classes, how the hell is she going to study, do homework, and support her kids?

Yeah, we know how she is going to support her kids...$$$$$Cha ching, sell her story.

Yeah, if you watch the video (linked before) she said that there's a daycare at her school and she intends to go back this fall.

There's a whole lot of CRAZY to go around here...the mom, the dad (donor) who apparently is her friend and she hopes will be in their lives (he's overwhelmed with news of the 8 mom says...wonder why), the grandparents, the clinic who apparently implanted 6 embryos many times over and knew she had 6 little ones when they implanted the last ones, the psychiatrist who treated her (or didn't) for depression...

Yeah right, take 8 premies to day care, plus her 6 other kids. That's real smart. A premies immune system is not full developed, so what is this whacko going to do, take them to a day care center where every runny nose kid will be at in the fall. What on earth is she thinking?

Did you see the mom on the Today Show this morning? She said she's always wanted a big family to make up for the fact that she was an only child and the isolation she felt in a disfunctional family. She suffered years of depression before realizing her dream to become a mother. She said she used the same clinic for all her pregnancies and was implanted with 6 embryo's this time and about the same all the other times. She said she will be able to afford supporting her family once she finishes her schooling (this fall) and she also says she intends to stop her life to attend to the needs of her children. Here's the video link.

How can somebody "stop their life to attend to the needs of their children" and afford to raise them??

She sounds like a nut.

They won't take them for some time to come, if only because of the liability.

Besides, she ALONE will all but FILL that daycare!

Yep, she will need a bus to shuttle 14 kids in 14 car seats. If the 7-year old does not weigh at least 60 pounds that kid will need to be in a car seat to.

I believe the law state 60-pounds and/or 6-years old.

I am having a hard time finishing college with no children, let alone 14! How in the heck does she think she will be able to finish with all those kids?! This story sounds even crazier now than it did before she came forward!

She wants to start her masters degree, well I just completed a three year full-time masters program in the area of public administration. And it was hard to complete it!!!!

My masters program offers no classes on line. I had to attend class twice a week; with each class being three hours long, so 6-hours of night classes, which I went to after I worked all day at my full time job!

Plus, each class had three to four text books that I had to pay for and keep up with the reading assignments. Weekly reading assignments involved at least 10-15 hours of reading and comprehending.

Plus, I had to do the weekly assignments, mid-term paper, and tests, plus the final. Not to mention that each class required that I be in a team group assignment, which required a team group project, which required meeting with the team after class hours on weekends at week-nights.

How the heck does she plan to do that with 8 new borns and 6 other kids at home. She is crazy! Does she have three nannys?

Ppl like this woman make me crazy. She only had these children to make money. what kind of mother has more children when she already has six and cant take care of them? it is one thing to have several children or large families if you are able to take care of them..i have opions on that too..but it is quite another to have children to make money off of them...did you see the show where she was talking about wanting to have a reality show about her good parenting? how in God's name is this woman ever going to be able to emotionally support this many childen let alone the financial responsibility. it makes me sad that there are so many women who want to have children and arent able and then there is this woman who exploits the system and her children. Shame on her! thats my two cents!

Did anybody else notice Octomom looked like she had plastic surgery on her face? The HUGE Angelina Jolie lips, narrow nose, and extra high cheekbones? I think she did more then IVF with that $170k workers comp payoff. Speaking of, shouldn't she be dealing with work comp fraud? How the hell to you stay pregnant for the past ten years in "constant pain" from a previous injury?

i hope she paid for the whole process without insurance or govt assistance. our tax dollars should not be paying for this bs!!

I'm not one to judge others without knowing them/all the facts, but this one burned me!!! I watched the announcements of the Octuplets being born, and thought; well it must have happened due to follicle stimulation because no Dr. would do invitro with 8 or more embryos. Yesterday I watched as the experts gave their opinions with the same conclusion I came to. There was no way any of them would have done invitro with that many eggs and they would turn someone away who wanted that, so they also felt it must have been egg stimulation that caused this.

Now this morning I learn that the mother, who is currently living at home with her mother, already has six children (we know nothing about the father)!!!! And here's the kicker...it WAS invitro!!!! Holy Cow!!! I get that there are crazy people out there, so I'm writing the mom off as nuts, but what the heck happened to regulating and having rules about ethics for this for the Drs.??!! What's next...cloning? Know that I have family members and friends that have been helped by fertility specialists, so I know the benefit in using one, but this guy crossed the line. Just MO.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
