swrktp 1 Posted January 30, 2009 I think I will be two weeks behind you. My pre op diet started two months ago when I decided to get the lap band. I just have to make sure I STAY on it!! You getting nervous at all? I am. I am not someone who tolerates pain well. But I heard this is not a high pain surgery.
ichthyology 0 Posted February 1, 2009 You better believe I am getting nervous.... I keep on thinking I can lose weight without the surgery... Losing weight has never been a problem for me...keeping it off has.....

ichthyology 0 Posted February 19, 2009 Well, I am home from the hospital. Not much pain, more soreness than anything else. Feels like I had a weeks worth of heavy stomache workouts. The nurse told me not to get on a scail for a few days becuase of all the fluids they give you via IV. I did anyway....14 lbs up!!!! I am not worried at all about it becuase I know pre-suregery they gave me two liters, and at least 5 liters post-op. Only 1 liter of output of urine....so the next few days I will be standing next to the toilet!!! Well, just thought I would let you know how it is going with me..... KartMan 58 Posted February 20, 2009 I'm home too. No wieght gain from the IV for me. The surgery was a breeze. I remember laying down an the table, next thing i knew i was in the recovery room. I have a lot of pain on the back side of my left shoulder and some soreness in the stomach. they gave me an RX for liquid vicoden which seems to help with the pain. Ice packs on the stiches seems to help. All and all it is not so bad.
ichthyology 0 Posted February 20, 2009 My problem today is that I have NO energy. All I want to do is sleep. Went for a walk this morning. Could barely do it. All I wanted to do is sleep. Came home and slept another 5 hours, that is afyet sleeping 18 hours previous....
KartMan 58 Posted February 21, 2009 Well your body has been thru a lot and needs time to recover. Hopefully life won't get too much in the way and you can sleep, probably the best healing for you right now anyway. Try to get some protien in, that should help with energy. I'm doing pretty well today. Pain in the shoulder is mostly gone. The cuts are a bit tender but not too bad. I just noticed they shaved my belly (TMI) and it's starting to itch a bit which is annoying.
denriquez 0 Posted February 21, 2009 I also had my surgery Feb. 18th. I'm doing the liquids and I feel like I was also run over by a bus. However, I have this nagging sharp pain on the left side of my stomach, right below my rib. I am praying that will go away soon! I am very weak right now, no desire to do anything. I am hoping that as soon as I start incorporating some solids it'll raise my energy levels again.
ichthyology 0 Posted February 22, 2009 What you are feeling is gas pains...get some Gas X strips. They help considerably. ALso, walk around a bit in the house. That will help as well. Good luck....we are in this for the long run!!!!!!!!!!
ichthyology 0 Posted February 27, 2009 Hello everyone: For the past few days I have been very bloated in the afternoons. I am still on liquids so nothing has changed there. It is just that I get major "gas" pain right below the band....But it is not gas per se. I have walked every afternoon for about 45 minutes and it does not go away... Pepcid and Gas-X does nothing for it either.... Any suggestions????
