overfilled

Recommended Posts

I think I may be overfilled...I'm not going to complain. I have dropped a lot of weight since my appt last week. I now have 7.25cc's in a 100c band. Things have been going well. I have a Protein shake for Breakfast and 1/4 cup of cottage cheese for lunch. I have an afternoon snack of Protein Shake. For supper I have 1/2 cup of some type of Protein.

I have also been visiting the gym like it is my new best friend. So according to my scale I have lost 55lbs in almost 6 months. Just over halfway to goal!

I go back to the doc in early March I hope I can hold out until then but I'm not so sure. I am starting to feel worn down and super tired...I hope to see if I feel better after the weekend...

You may not be getting enough nutrition. My surgeon wouldn't approve of your diet. Once I got past the healing stage I was expected to eat a large variety of three solid meals per day. I am not to use shakes as a meal, I am not supposed to eat soft mushie foods as a meal. Feeling worn-down and tired is a huge sign that you are lacking in something. The goal is certainly to lose weight but to do it healthfully with a diet that you can follow for life. Are you able to exercise sufficiently on your diet? I think I would be too tired and dizzy to move around much if I ate like that and I was not a strenuous exerciser until very recently.

I do not measure but I eat an average of 3/4 cup of food per meal. Veggies, meat and cheese added to 1/4 cup of eggbeater or 1/2 cup of Cereal with 1/4 cup of skim milk for Breakfast. lunch and dinner is solid lean Protein with fresh veggies. And I have managed to lose steadily eating that way. I have had a ton of energy and felt great...Just something to consider.

That's an awful lot of slider foods. I don't think you should be using shakes as a Meal Replacement. A banders we should only really consume them as a supplement, and then only when you have difficulty eating enough protein in your regular meals. It kind of defeats the purpose of the band, which is to allow you to eat normal food with pretty severe portion limits. If you are eating these mushies because they are "easier" then you are doing yourself a disservice by not working the band properly. If you are eating these foods because you cannot tolerate anything else, then maybe you need the unfill.

Track your food and make sure that you are getting enough calories. On the surface it doesn't look like it, and that will contribute to your lack of stamina. Make sure you are taking a multi-vite and a B-complex too help you along too.

Best,

Lanakila

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
