Anyone do video workouts?

Recommended Posts

So I'm trying to find a good workout video. Moderate intensity that I can do comfortably in my living room.

I would really appreciate any recommendations!

When I find it impossible to get to the gym I do TaeBoe. I have the Tae-Bo Live series and I get a serious workout. There are the beginner to advanced videos.

The other I have grown fond of is Cathe Friedrich's Max series. I have only done Stretch Max and Core MAx, shown on FitTV but she has a HUGE collection of dvds that will serve any need you have, from cardio to weight training. Cathe is no joke.

I have also discovered The Firm. I bought "Dangerous Curves Ahead" on sale at Best Buy. I havent tried it yet but it looks grueling. I need to work up the nerve. Yikes!

Good luck, I hope these helped.

I have two sets of the "Walk Away the Pounds" videos. I like them because they are 1, 2, and 3 mile so depending on what you feel like doing, you can get a good workout. You can also use weights or not - depending on your mood. The tapes are good - but she talks A LOT! The one mile takes about 19 minutes, the 2 mile about 30 minutes. I do them when my kids go to bed...

I've got Cathe's Muscle Max which is a pretty serious workout and I have Jari Love's Ripped to the Core, also for the advanced exerciser. I dont do them very often, I might throw in 2 weeks of either one of them rather than my usual circuit training just to break the routine, but I find weight lifting in the traditional style rather boring. Well, very boring, in fact I loathe it. I'd rather mix it up in a circuit that I just make up, that way no 2 workouts are ever the same.

But I learned a lot of exercises from these DVD's.

I also have a Treadmoves DVD that is a treadmill workout, which I liked at first but 3 years later, its lame as lame for me, I could do it five times and want more exercise.

What I use religiously, either on my treadmill or outside, and continue to find challenging is the Cardio Coach series - MP3 interval cardio workouts. Awesome, and you never get too fit for them.

Thanks. MY roomate has the biggest loser one and I do that sometimes but I get bored easily and I need to workout at home at least twice a week.

I looked online and the Core program looks pretty good as well as Tae bo! I've also tried the free on demand rentals. Pretty cool but I have to ook through so many to find one I can actually do!

I have Jillian Michael's 30 Shread. I love it as much as I love any exercise. It really is a great workout. There are three levels with variations in each. I have lost about 11 lbs in the thee weeks or so I have been using it and I haven't even been using it everyday like advised. A real friend and I are able to do the workout during lunch in my office with very limited room. Love it and her for being so supportive!

I thrive for my home DVDs and they really get me through the winter months! I love the Turbo Jamm (kickboxing) and just recently I got the Core Rhythms (latin dancing). I enjoy both and the DVD packages come with a variety of 30/45min cardio and tonning for different body parts.

I also use Walk Away The Pounds. I agree--she jabbers too much--but it's simple steps and still gives a great workout.

I ordered P90. It is a more moderate workout video than the p90x routine seen on infomercials. Google both and see. The video shows some of the workout.

No workouts should be done before 30 days post op according to my surgeon. I have been walking outside and on the treadmill no longer than 30-45 min at a time twice a day. I am thinking about using elastics for my legs and arms. This won't put any strain on the abdomen. I am just 4 days post op.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
