crzytchr 3 Posted January 28, 2009 Ask when they discharge you. It is probably at least 48 hours. The anesthesia has to get out of your system.

pwoods5015 0 Posted January 28, 2009 my doctor said a week (until the post-op appointment) but out of necessity, I was banded on a Thursday and driving on Saturday - not far or for long, but driving.
RestlessMonkey 7 Posted January 28, 2009 As you can see from the varied answers, ask your doc. Regardless of what s/he says, of course, you should NOT drive if you are taking narcotic pain killers! For me: I had surgery on Friday and drove to school that next Tuesday.
TQUAD64 9 Posted January 28, 2009 Your doctor will include that in your discharge orders if they do not then ask your doctor. I was told not to drive until day 7-post-op. And honestly I did not feel up to driving until day 7 post-op.
