Hey louandboosmom, welcome aboard . I'm half really excited and half scared to death, how about you? I really really want to succeed at this, I've failed so many times before. How far is Lake Worth from Clewiston?

I guess I haven't let myself get scared. I can't wait to see myself smaller..... Keep thinking positive !!!!!!!!! This is going to be a GREAT GREAT GREAT thing.... I am an hour from everything, Ft Lauderdale, Ft Myers, West Palm. The perfect location. Nice quiet town and big cities not far away.

Hi Everyone,

I have been posting on a thread called 'anyone know Dr Chris De Bruyne' he is a doctor who performs the band sugery in Belgium, a lot of people like me from UK go there to have their surgery as it costs a fraction of the price if you had surgery in UK. Anyway I see you have all mastered the art of tickery! Well done, I would just like to know how a thinner me has already lost 17lbs and surgery is not scheduled until the 23/3! Well done, what have you been doing?

As you can see from my ticker I have lost no weight so far, actually I have most likely been putting it on as since I got my date for surgery 17 March I have become more obsessed with food then ever,,,eating everything in sight!

Anyway I hope to lose a little when I start my pre-op diet on the 3 March. I look forward to joining all of you 'March Melters' and lets hope the name is a good omen and we do all 'melt' away!!!

Hi Fatpants, I have noticed that you are being banded on March 17 in Brussels. Both myself and my sister Big Bones are also being banded on that day by Dr Chris so it would be really nice to meet you then. Both my sister and I are really nervous, but also really excited!:tt2::tongue2:

Fantastic, thank you for letting me know!

I've been looking out for other people going over on the same day as me. Where are you flying from? I'm flying from Gatwick, even though Heathrow has cheaper flights, I can't get flights to Heathrow. Where are you staying, I'm staying at Hotel CAMPANILE - Vilvoorde, it's about a 10 minute walk from the hospital. Frederik is coming to see me at the hotel at 6:15am to do paper work & Payment then he's taking me to the hospital. Have you been given any details yet?

I am not nervous, I'm just derperate to get it over with so as that I can still eating and turning into a balloon!

Jewy and bigbones I am so happy to hear that from you, we should compare notes like weight, our goals etc......

Hi Shoes, the package sounds good value, where are you staying? I didn't realise they did a package like that - saves alot of arranging taxis etc... I agree it being just a waiting game, it seems to drag on!!:blushing: Just can't wait to get on with it now!:cursing:

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
