Thanks again. I plan on spending a good deal of my recovery time in the living room. Luckily, we have a downstairs bathroom as well!

Hi Shalee hope your doing better. About the protien shots, I saw them at the East Hill Mall but I hesitated to purchase them because the Protein level is so high . . but now that I know someone out there has tried them, how's the taste and which flavor would you recommend.
I am interested in knowing which flavor you liked as well!!

Did any of you gals buy your own compression garments??? My doc hasn't mentioned this to me... He said I would be wearing one... I am assuming they provide it.

I would have to say the Blue Rasberry are the ones I tend to drink the most. and then the fruit punch one next. I'll be honest they aren't the best tasting thing out there, but the Protein level is great for someone needing to get thier protein in after surgery. They were great for me becasue of my wound problem I had and I needed to get in over 125-150 a day to promote healing, and that's hard to do when you have no appetite what so ever.

I would drink it like a shot, just slam it down in 2 shots.

I also got some myolesan chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Drink mix and 3 scoops has 42 grams of protein also, I woud adjust it in half drink. Then theres the Supreme Protein cCaramel Nut Chocolte bars. They are very low in carbs and sugar 30 grams of protein and they taste pretty dang good. Good size bar and one lasts me all day.

I get most of my stuff at DS Nutricion, and Jerry there is wonderful, he takes the time to answer any question you have. But I will be ordering my shots from Discounted bodybuilding from now on as a much better price.

My binder and compression garmet I paid for and the binder was put on me in OR, becasue of my wound problem I could not wear the Compression gasrmet and took it back to PS's ofice and got my $100 bucks back. I ordered another binder online and switched them out. Ask you PS tho.

I did rent a recliner also and used that when I was downstairs, I couldn't sleep in it tho.

My recommendation would be to be prepared to rest. Make sure you have some help for at least 4-5 days. Get some good movies, books on tape, etc and just rest. Have some good quality food already prepared, protien powder is fine and yogurt, lo-cal rice pudding, lo-salt saltine crackers, etc. A toliet riser is a must. Ask your surgeon about your compression garment. Mine had them for sale, but Make Me Heal carries them as well. A Tummy Tuck is a big deal, but you're going to love it. Best wishes!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
