Gabband 0 Posted January 25, 2009 (edited) I am doing much exercise, but I would like to know what time of day is more effective exercise in the morning, in the afternoon or at night....:w00t: Edited January 25, 2009 by Gabband
Jachut 487 Posted January 25, 2009 Whenever you're motivated to do it and where it fits in your schedule. Its the same deal as the what exercise is best question. There's all sorts of theories but in reality the best exercise for you is the one you will actually do. I find I will go for a run or do a circuit whenever I can fit it into my day - and I do plan ahead. But if I run in the afternoon and evening I am significantly faster for the same perceived effort. Running in the morning (as in first thing) is just not as enjoyable, I'm not energetic at that time of day. but I would definitely do it every time that day if I had to. That exercise on an empty stomach before Breakfast because you burn more fat is about as credible as the no carbs after 5pm myth. You dont burn the food sitting in your stomach anyway, and after a night's sleep, all of yesterday's food has been nicely turned into gylcogen and sitting in your muscles anyway. You'll STILL burn that first. That's why marathoners carbo load the day before a race.
TQUAD64 9 Posted January 25, 2009 I am not sure there is a better time of day that is more effective for exercise. That is the first I ever heard that mentioned. I can say for me personally, I am so not a morning person. The first thing I do, besides beat the hell out of the alarm clock for having the audacity to wake me up at such an ungodly hour, is to get to the coffee pot. After, the java is flowing through my veins, I am scampering around the house getting ready for my commute to work. By the end of the day and after my commute home, I am ready to blow off some stress and energy on my treadmill. So, during the work week, I exercise at night. On the weekends, I exercise day or evening, but never in the morning.
luluc 6 Posted January 25, 2009 it's a timing & preference thing for me. i'm and early bird & enjoy working out first thing to start my day.
MacMadame 81 Posted January 25, 2009 I like taking a break in the late afternoon (I work out at work.) and I like doing it later in the evening and going home and collapsing. On the weekends, I ride my bike after lunch because that's the best time of day where I am - it's warmed up from the night before, but the afternoon winds haven't picked up yet.
