OT Bunnies without a home

Recommended Posts

As you all know my husband works installing sewer pipes for new deveolpments.. Anyway yesterday when they were making a man hole they destroyed a Bunny nest and needless to say 6 babies are without a home and the momma ran away. He went back this morning to get his thermos and he says they are still there huddled together. Now should I bring them home??? Should I let nature takes it's course??

Don't know much about raising bunnies, I know he does and we have wild one living close by if not under the shed in the back yard..

Please Save the bunnies! Also look into the elementary school system to see if maybe a class wants to adopt a bunny. First you have to get them checked by a vet. Sometimes you can inquire at the vet to see if they know people who are interested in Bunnies. I don't really care for cats but a stray had 3 kittens in my backyard. They have been eating my dogs food and he lets them he is a BIG puppy. I broke down and bought cat food an now even though I am afraid of cats they run to me and purr and rub against me (after I finish having my panic attack) I go inside. Last night I went to check on the kitties and found a big turtle in my back yard. I guess the cats spread the word so I gave the turtle some lettuce I saw that on tv or something. I guess i am officially Dr. Doolittle. LOL Take care! DeeDee

Save the bunnies!!!!!!!!!! I had rescued 2 squirrels..well actually 3 and 1 is in squirrel heaven....but, I let them go in my backyard, and I can still go out there and feed and see them, it is pretty neat.

In NJ we have a place called "The Wild Life Center" its a place that you can bring birds, bunnies, etc. I've let many wild animals go there (and they allow it). I doubt a farm would want bunnies (eating their crops lol) unless they are going to cage them.

I would wait a little while, maybe you can bring them food and watch to see if their mama comes back.

update.. Momma came back and is tending to them. Hubby is going to check and make sure they are all doing ok since they (the crew) displaced the poor innocent babies.. He says if they are not all doing good he will bring them home and also try to get the momma..

Thanks you all.

By the way I do think we have a wild animal place here...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
