Gummie vitamins vs chewables

Recommended Posts

I can't stand chalk or just the word chalk and chewables just taste like chalk which make me puke.

Wondered if anyone else is using gummie Vitamins as their choice.

I'm in pre-op stages now and know that I will have to chew chew chew once I have the surgery.

Anyway just wondering

Tam

They make a liquid Vitamin, but I take the One a Day Essentials. They are ones that you swallow and they are really small. For Calcium, I just do the Viactiv chewable.< /p>

crzy--

what does the chewable Calcium taste like.

Also you don't get your Vitamin stuck?

Tam

It hasn't gotten stuck yet. It is smaller than a regular m&m. You would have to purchase it online, though. They don't carry them in stores. I happen to have a stockpile with expiration dates until 2011, because it is the only ones my teenagers will take. They are One a Day Essentials (green box).

The chewable calcium is yummy. Tastes like candy. They come in chocolate and caramel. This can be bought everywhere. Viactiv is the name brand, but most places have their own generic also. I like the chocolate ones.

Thanks so much for your help.

I was worried about sizes of vitamins.. and this sounds like what I need.

I just didn't think I was going to be getting what I needed in the gummies.

I will be getting the Calcium now..

Again thanks. Tam

Someone in my preop class asked about the gummi Vitamins and we were told we couldn't use them b/c you really can't chew them enough. I hear you though I don't like the chewables either

I take 4 gummies a day (2 in the AM and 2 in the PM). I buy the huge bottle of them at costco. My DD takes them too so this way I only have to buy 1 type. I buy the calcium chews at Costco too. Their Kirkland brand is really good and sugar free. Don't know about the Viactiv. The only pills I take a chance on are my acidophylis and my BP meds. Very tiny and I have almost gotten stuck on them. I have restriction now and am pretty tight in the AM.

I take my Vitamins with no problem, but I am not really restricted. If you surgeon says only do chewables, then follow his advice or try the liquid. I think Centrum makes a liquid for seniors, but the Vitamin content may be fine for all adults.

I will be trying a few different chewables, I tried the Centrum chewable and it didn't taste like chalk, the orange flavor was ok, but the texture wasn't smooth it seemed more "sandy" whereas I like the Gas X cherry chewable's smooth texture and hope to find a Vitamin like it.

I've been taking the gummies because that's what my husband brought home, but I just had my surgery Monday and don't have anything close to restriction, so I haven't had any problems. Ironically, I actually prefer the "chalk" kind!

When I left the hospital post band I took the gummy vitamins. I liked them, but I wanted to give the chalky chew-ables a try, I don't like them. So once I finish off the chalky chewable vitamins, I am going back to the Gummy vitamins...they are more yummy.

I take Viactiv Calcium chewable's, and now they make Viactiv Multivitamins and I take those as well, I do take Biotin as well, not chewable but I am 7 months out and it doesn't bother me to swallow them.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
