Playing outside with my boys: running, playing tennis, swimming, camping. That's the reason I got the band, to improve my health enough to enjoy them while they're young.

My list (I'm sure I'll think of more later):

  • Not avoiding old friends and family I haven't seen for awhile because of how big I am and not wanting to shock them
  • Wearing pretty, sexy bras
  • Wearing blouses where my upper arms show
  • Having more enery and being more physically active
  • Have more room in airplane seats
  • Wearing some of my favorite clothes again
  • Swimming when I go to the beach
  • Though he's never said anything, making my dad pleased to see me smaller again before it's too late
  • Having pants that don't wear out between my thighs
  • Not having to stand so I don't break certain chairs
  • Sleeping quietly and comfortably
  • Making my husband proud
  • Being proud of myself

Having my LAP back! So, when children come around I can hold them comfortably, and might be able to put my laptop on my LAP, fitting into a standard seat (I work at a university and many meetings are in classrooms) and being able to use the desktop attached to my seat not the one next to me. Also, seeing my feet as well as being able to rub them myself.

Hi All!

I look forward to:

1. Going out to dinner without having to worry about whether my backside will fit in the seat and then when it barely fits, not worrying about standing up and still having the chair attached to my rear end!

2. Not being limited to wearing 'whatever fits' which are often hideous tents disguised as clothes

3. Bending over in the shower to shave my legs without my stomach getting in the way

4. Walking up a hill without feeling like I am going to have a heart attack and without sweating so much I look like I just got out of the shower

5. Flying and actually fitting in a seat, without a seatbelt extension and without having to pass on meals because the tray won't go down (even in business class sometimes!)

6. Not worrying if a car seat belt will fit me or not

7. Sitting in a booth seat without my breasts and the top of my stomach resting on the tabletop - so attractive!!!!!

8. Lying on my back without my breasts suffocating me up under my chin.

9. Sitting on my husband without potentially killing him!

10. .... and so, so, so much more!

All the best to you all - may the forth be with you!

Hi All!

I look forward to:

1. Going out to dinner without having to worry about whether my backside will fit in the seat and then when it barely fits,

That goes for seats at sporting events, theaters, and other public places. I think this spring we will go back to Cedar Point again and hit the coasters!

When the time is right, having a healthy pregnancy.

More confidence at work to do presentations and speeches.

Ha! Yes! I tell that little voice to shut up every time.

Changes I've noticed already:

1. I bought my first clothes from the non-plus section.

2. I sat in a restaurant booth and didn't even think "will I fit this time?"

3. I'm planning a trip this summer and for the first time in ages am not worried about fitting on the plane or in a roller coaster.

4. I am off one of my prescriptions, and the others have been cut in half.

5. I'm shopping for a bike! Me, a bike!

Ok serious answer

~ Getting rid of meds there are so many I have a printed list

~ Buying hotter colthes (yes even us men want to)

~ Longer life (My mom already buried a son and husband don't want her to bury another son)

~ Fit in an airplane seat wiht try table down

~ Do projects with out getting tired so quickly

oooh, the airplane seat is a good one. the last couple of times I have flown I have carried a seatbelt extender. Thanks for reminding me. I will add that one on my list. I used to "smuggle" it in my bra strap and hope the person sitting beside me wouldnt notice. ahahahah

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
