:( I'm 32 female, I had my band put in January '03'. I had it done in Port Huron Michigan. I am currently contemplating having the band removed, that's how I found this site, looking for info. I lost over 200 lbs., but have since gained almost 100 lbs. back. Although I am happy, I am not too happy with my weight these days. :scared2:

That's a brief intro for a big statement! Tell us more. Like how you lost the 200, why you think you regained 100. What your doc says, etc.

Welcome.

Congratulations on your 200 lb weight loss. That sounds amazing.

Why are you thinking about having it removed? Are you having complications?

Thanks for the response.

I definately think the lapband is a great thing! I am just an odd one. I am 5' 10", in '03' b4 banding I weighed 364 lbs. Over a couple years I got down to 158 lbs. Which was amazing!!!!! Well, I quit smoking in Sept. 06, there came 60lbs. then here comes the kicker, I started eating ice cream everyday and I really mean everyday, there came another 40 lbs. and here I am today at 25? lbs. ugh!!!!! I gtg, I will have to get into the why I would want the band removed story later. Thanks:tongue_smilie:

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
