Still no date!

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I am so frustrated! I still have not heard a date! I was hoping it would be August! Is this common that it takes this long to get your date?

I started my journey back in March of this year and didnt get a date until the end of May. I was banded on the 30th of June. Not sure when you started your's but it takes a little while for them to get their stuff in order. I hope you hear something soon! Call me!!

Angie

Hang in there Dianne....Call Bobbi. I was to be scheduled for a fill 3 weeks ago and just got my call friday. Bobbi and the other nurse have been on vacation and they can't schdule things with out each other being there. So I would say if you haven't anything by this thursday call her directly. You will have to leave her a VM but she always calls you back. To make you feel better...I started my last Nov and just had mine done in June. It wasn't Dr. V's fault...I needed a second opinion from another doctor on something. It can take time.... Keep up the faith and it will come very soon.

Thanks Kim,

I am approved already from insurance company, all the pre op stuf is done. I know they are busy, but my life is basically on a stand still. At least if there was communication with me about what is going on I would feel better.

Last Monday the 1st, they said I'd know by the end of the week. Yesterday I was in the same building and dropped in the office, the lady at the front desk told me that she has no idea when Bobbi will get to me. That just isn't a very caring or considerate answer.

I feel very comfortable with Dr.V and am happy that he is doing the surgery for me. That is one piece of mind I have.

Thanks for being there Kim,

Hey Dianne, First let me say, "the lady at the front desk" sometimes make you feel you are bothering her. I guess she is very busy, but she can be really nice. So just look over that. If I were you...I would call Bobbi and leave her a VM. Just tell her you have already received your paperwork for the approval from the insurance and you just want to see what is next or when she can expect to hear back with a date. I did that and she called me the next day with 3 dates. So try that...you might be surprised. Just remember there is a reason for everything so hang in there and your time will come. Believe me I know the waiting is horrible.

I saw Dr. V today for my first fill. Finally it was 2 weeks late but at least I didn't gain anything.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
